Firstly, switch off your air conditioner if you plan to leave for an extended period. Secondly, adjust your thermostat to a minimum of 5 degrees to allow the unit to stay on but not cool the air. Lastly, you can also turn up the thermostat at night to avoid running the air conditioner continuously.
